Police Rescues Four Abducted Expatriates

Four foreigners; three Russians and a Ukrainian, who were abducted from
off the coast of Bayelsa State on April 22, this year, have finally
regained their freedom in Port Harcourt.
The foreigners, who had been on the search radar of security personnel
since they were abducted, were sighted by men of the Rivers police
command in the Borokiri area of Port Harcourt.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO)
of the Rivers police command, Angel Agabe (DSP), said men of the
command’s anti-kidnap squad moved in to rescue the victims after they
had been cited.
Agabe gave the names and nationalities of the rescued victims as Vadym
Shytov, Ukraine, Obaya Marak, Kiribati, Mikhail Teresgji, Russia and
Oleksiv Ishmyetvev, Russia
The Police Spokesman who said the rescued hostages had been handed over to their firm by the state Police Commissioner added that investigation was on to track down those behind their abduction.

At about 1500hrs information received revealed that four expatriates of
Leonhard and Blumber namely Vadym Shytov, Ukraine, Obaya Marak,
Kiribati , Mikhail Teresgji, Russia and Oleksiv Ishmyetvev, Ukraine
kidnapped by armed hoodlums on 22/04/13 at 100 nautical miles off the
coast of Bayelsa waters were sighted in Borikiri area of Port Harcourt.
Operatives of the anti kidnapping unit in Port Harcourt swiftly moved
in and rescued them in good health condition. The state Commissioner of
Police, Mr Mbu Joseph Mbu received the hostages and handed them over to
Mr Larry Etete, a company staff. Investigation in progress,”she said.
